Usualy, for the last 10 or so years, I just ignore our national ESC selection as I got sick of the constant balades and world/slavic ethno music, but this year I have to say I am happy with the song which will represent Croatia. It has the modern sounds but also plays with the early electro disco sounds of 70s and 80s. Could it be that Croatia got back on the track where it was in the 80s when we actualy won the ESC? Anyhow, I know I will enjoy this song everytime it plays on the radio 🙂
With better camera work and improved choreo at the Grand Finale, this will be an easy top 10 material. I do not see it as a winner entry but looks like she’ll give a winning performance. Suggestions: keep the hot boys, and have -even hotter- Albina wave her gorgeous hair more widely. Trust me, nothing is too much and less is not more with such a catwalky song. All there’s to do is keep it more creative while less cliché. I mean with good staging, that’s even top 5 material but we all sadly know where the Croatian team usually goes with that :’D Just saying..

Uzas je pjesma. Tko je jednom u zivotu bar gledao eurosong zna da ovo sigurno nece u finale. Jos je pocelo optuzivanje da je plagijat-ocekivano. Dok je Filip Rudan sam napisao svoju pjesmu, ima stav i glascinu i Nina Kraljic koja je pjevala na hrvatskom. Ocito su klinci glasali za ovo, nema drugog objasnjenja. Jedva cekam gledat da ne prode u finale

Voljela bih da dodaju jos jedan prechorus na hrvatskom ili produze hrv dio. Puno puta se ponavlja glavni dio na engleskom tako da je hrvatski dio nekako main point u izvedbi. Fali mi jos barem jedan verse između refrena izmedu sredine i kraja pjesme, možda netom prije hrv refren. Iako pjesma ne izlazi iz glave mislim da s obzirom na konkurenciju i previse pjesama 80-tih bi bilo dobro jos malo doraditi neke detalje kako bi dosli do finala. možda još malo uložiti u stage i neke detalje iako je i ovako dobro, malo poraditi jos na nekim detaljima vokalno možda izmijeniti neke sitnice da je vise dinamike. Nadam se da izmjene koje će napraviti neće imati negativan efekt i da neće izbaciti hrv dio.
@Meme Lover Ne treba mijenjati sve, nego dijelove koji su na pola napravljeni, neuobličeni i nedorađeni, plus, obvezno na doradu vokala jer nema ekspresije u niskim lagama i vuče ju u falš. Albina je ogroman potencijal, no ako ostane na ovome, ostat će poluprodukt, a ima sve za the whole 9 yards. Kajat će se ako ovo ne odradi kako treba jer izvedba pjesme ovisi samo o njoj, a ima apsolutno sve da bude big shot.

Slažem se apsolutno. Zadnji bridge skroz izmijeniti, otpjevati ga na hrvatskom i uvesti zadnji dio pjesme (pred ref na hrvatskom) u modulaciju (možda) – jer ovako postaje repetitivno. Inače, sve pohvale timu. Pjesma ima ogroman potencijal. ps. jedino što me iritira su oni “Oh, nooo” i “Don’t go” koji su falš jer se sama ideja harmonijski ne slaže sa instrumentalom, drugo – isforsirano je, generičko i vodi u deranje. Nije uobličena ideja tog dijela.
Slazem se sa svimeeee, ako vec ne mogu bas ubacit pokoji stih po sredini/pred kraj, mozda barem jos negdje “razbit” engleski hrvatskim pa da pjesma zvuci malo raznovrsnije ☺️
@Monroe M maybe under atack and gimme gimme(yes the main bits go up insted of down but it still gives the same feel) . But yes ABBA has this formula that everything is more on the same line. So the main bit doesnt go super far(super intence or super dull) but the main bit is still nice and singeble. Also ABBA has sometimes that the main bit is diffrent from the other bits.
I’ve listened to the full Croatian version, and nothing wrong with it, but English is much better for the verses and the bridge, keep chorus in Croatian, maybe add it one more time in Croatian, and that’s it, we’ll win. 😉

Usually Croatia never took the ESC serious so they always sent B our C singers to the ESC…Top stars like Oliver Dragojevic etc never even participated. But this year Croatia at least sent a rising star from the most popular national casting show. Solid chances that Albina wins the ESC 2021

The lyrics are … meeh (I’d prefer it if the part in Croatian was bigger, when the lyrics in English aren’t that great i prefer to understand nothing :-P), her vocals aren’t perfect but they’re strong and the song itself is catchy af. Voljela bih da dodaju jos jedan prechorus na hrvatskom ili produze hrv dio. Puno puta se ponavlja glavni dio na engleskom tako da je hrvatski dio nekako main point u izvedbi. Fali mi jos barem jedan verse između refrena izmedu sredine i kraja pjesme, možda netom prije hrv refren. Iako pjesma ne izlazi iz glave mislim da s obzirom na konkurenciju i previse pjesama 80-tih bi bilo dobro jos malo doraditi neke detalje kako bi dosli do finala. možda još malo uložiti u stage i neke detalje iako je i ovako dobro, malo poraditi jos na nekim detaljima vokalno možda izmijeniti neke sitnice da je vise dinamike. Nadam se da izmjene koje će napraviti neće imati negativan efekt i da neće izbaciti hrv dio.

Slažem se apsolutno. Zadnji bridge skroz izmijeniti, otpjevati ga na hrvatskom i uvesti zadnji dio pjesme (pred ref na hrvatskom) u modulaciju (možda) – jer ovako postaje repetitivno.
Inače, sve pohvale timu. Pjesma ima ogroman potencijal.
ps. jedino što me iritira su oni “Oh, nooo” i “Don’t go” koji su falš jer se sama ideja harmonijski ne slaže sa instrumentalom, drugo – isforsirano je, generičko i vodi u deranje. Nije uobličena ideja tog dijela.

@Monroe M maybe under atack and gimme gimme(yes the main bits go up insted of down but it still gives the same feel) . But yes ABBA has this formula that everything is more on the same line. So the main bit doesnt go super far(super intence or super dull) but the main bit is still nice and singeble. Also ABBA has sometimes that the main bit is diffrent from the other bits.
